Some of us have gotten very good at absorbing and
summoning information. But this is cleverness, not
intelligence. Although we are keenly aware of the
difference, we know too that awareness is not the
equivalent of an ability to change. This is the
error that keeps therapists in business.
It is a time of great danger, Carl Sagan says
in his PBS program, turning to face the camera. The
wind ruffles his hair. But our species is young and
curious and brave, and it shows much promise.
