Dear Peli,

I was in Israel for a few days seeing relatives, and
I spent all my spare time walking along the beach
and streets observing Israeli women. My American
impressions are that they are bolt upright, beautiful,
and militant even when pouring a glass of Coca-Cola.
Is it because they all served in the army that they
are so efficient and purposeful?

The sense I got is that of a replicant from "Blade
Runner", only the Israeli women are not subhuman but
superhuman, seemingly weathered against everything
and yet unruffled. Maybe that is why everyone there
pegged me at fifteen, sixteen years old. I'm
transparently much, much less than my peers in your
part of the world.

Is that a terribly provincial observation? I am curious
to know whether American women seem limp to you in
comparison with your hometown honeys...
