My little brother Ned is a synesthete.
Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon which
can have several ways of expressing itself. Ned
has grapheme → color synesthesia, which
means that he sees ordinary letters in different
colors. For example, the letter "A" always
appears to him in a dark blue color. Pages in a
book look like rainbow spreadsheets of letters.
It happens involuntarily.
