painter JMW Turner.

We went to the Met on a hot afternoon
to see the a show of oil paintings and
watercolors. Here's what I knew about
Turner:

1. My dad likes him.

We entered the arena. I could think of
no words to describe it, or at least
none that were good enough. When you
think about it, there aren't too
many metaphors of drastic self-
transformation out there. I can only
come up with two: chameleons and
Madonna.
